We are pleased to introduce beautiful new pieces by Adelaide based jeweller Jess Dare who is well known for her skills in lampworked glass. These vibrant profusions appeal to our love of colour and form, each component is meticulously handcrafted in sterling silver and filled with delicious chromatic glass.

"When living overseas in 2004 I spent some time in Venice, Italy, and upon visiting the small island of Murano I was captivated by the traditional lampworking. Since 2005 I have been practicing this traditional art form. Glass forms an integral part of my practice. I am fascinated by the colour, its malleability when molten, and its fragility and durability when cold. I take inspiration from nature, plants, berries, tropical fruits, flowers and the vivid colours found in nature. Exploring the botany of my mind, imaginary plants, brightly coloured berries and fantastical forms, my work is about memory and nature."

Blue skies are back for the afternoon....or so it seems! These beautiful Horizon vases by emerging Sydney based ceramic artist Inga Svensden have won many hearts since they came into Collect.

The vases are hand built and appear to be a wrapped sheet, so the beautifully proportioned bands of colour are visable from the inside as well as the exterior. "The aspects of my work that are most important to me are the honesty of the decoration, the colours and proportions I use to create rhythms and the emotional response the work provokes in others." We are delighted to introduce Object's beautiful fresh exhibition Stories in Form.
Featuring the work of both established and rising stars of Australian design, this exhibition explores innovation and the narrative behind design objects. At the heart of the exhibition is the idea of interactivity and the exploration of the way products are used through time. Jacqueline Power has curated this show to track the initial ideas that inspire the designers and their products, to the changes that occur to the product over a lifetime. Each piece in the show has a unique story and is made utilising innovative processes,such as re-purposing functional objects, manufacturing and integration. The exhibition highlights the way that objects are designed to intertwine with our daily lives and perhaps form domestic rituals through their use. Featuring Henry Wilson, Elliat Rich, bernabeifreeman, Cinnamon Lee and Ben McCarthy, Stories in Form will be showing in Object's main gallery until 25th March and is part of Art Month Sydney.
